            <p id="isPasted">This is a 12 month temporary position.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Procurement at Lancaster has undergone significant transformation in recent years. The team continues to expand its reach and is forward-thinking in its approach to managing the full range of Purchase to Pay and Source to Contract activity for the University&rsquo;s non-pay expenditure of around &pound;100m per year.&nbsp;</p><p>The University has declared a Climate Emergency and set an ambitious target to be Carbon Net Zero by 2035. The Procurement Team play a key role in the delivery of this target.</p><p>The Higher Education (HE) sector purchases an unparalleled range of goods and services. The Procurement team at Lancaster work with world-leading academics and colleagues from other Professional Services areas such as Facilities and Information Systems.</p><p>A wide variety of categories are managed including Laboratory Supplies &amp; Equipment, Travel, IT, Construction, Maintenance, and Business Support Services. Procurement at Lancaster is a well-established and mature function. We score highly on the sector-wide best practice procurement indicators and set stretch goals to continuously improve. This is a large and ambitious team within a people-focused organisation providing opportunities to progress and develop including supporting team members to achieve CIPS qualifications.</p><p>The role of the procurement team is to manage the university&#39;s expenditure with external suppliers. This includes sourcing, tendering, contracting and supplier management.</p><p>Working closely with other members of the operational procurement team, you will provide a high level of support to our diverse academic and research departments. Your main role will be to undertake the order processing activity including understanding customer needs, processing requisitions and expediting deliveries. You will have effective numeracy, literacy and word processing skills and be able to present information relating to the progress of work.</p><p>You will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. &nbsp;You will be trained in procurement and will learn to provide procurement advice in accordance with the University&#39;s Financial Regulations and Procurement Procedures. You need to be a team player and able to work with other colleagues in our travel and accounts payable team, providing assistance during busy periods for any of the three areas of the purchase to pay function.</p><p>We operate hybrid working and this role can be effectively delivered from home with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office. You will be a member of the faculty undergraduate administrative team of Undergraduate Programmes Coordinators, dealing with shared Teaching Office systems and processes for Biomedical and Life Sciences undergraduate programmes.</p><p>Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of the administrative team within this busy division. Experience of using a range of administrative processes, ideally within an educational environment; and experience of Microsoft Office packages is essential.</p><p>You will be based in Biomedical and Life Sciences, within the Faculty of Health &amp; Medicine and will interact with academic staff, technical support staff and students. In this role, you will offer both on-site and remote technical support to end users. Utilising ITIL-based processes to handle incidents and service requests, you will tackle a wide range of technical challenges, provide advice, and perform preventative maintenance to support the University&rsquo;s teaching, research, and administrative functions. This includes collaborating with our AV services team to support IT and audio-visual equipment in various learning spaces.</p><p>Additionally, you will work with the broader teams in ISS to help support the delivery of new and existing services. A key part of your role will involve participating in completing the campus-wide deployment of Windows 11.&nbsp;</p><p>An experience of working in a team-based IT service environment, as well as knowledge of PC and Audio-Visual systems in use at Higher Education or equivalent establishments will be advantageous. You will combine your IT and problem-solving skills with a strong user-focus to ensure an excellent service to the user community. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p>This post will be normal business hours based on campus, however on occasion there will be opportunities to undertake paid work outside those hours. This is a varied and rewarding role, providing essential administrative support across student Academic Appeals and the Standing Academic Committee (SAC) processes.</p><p>Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across the full lifecycle of student appeal cases and SAC processes, spanning undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students at both Lancaster and our partner institutions. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable managing sensitive case files with accuracy and discretion, and with a demonstrable ability to coordinate hearings, monitor deadlines and maintain detailed records. Attendance at appeals and SAC hearings will be a regular part of the role, and you will also share ownership of managing and updating departmental web pages.</p><p>You will be a proactive self-starter with excellent organisational and IT skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a busy environment. A good standard of general education (minimum 5 GCSEs Grades A-C, including Maths and English) is required, along with a proven track record in administrative roles.             <p id="isPasted">The&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/law/">School of Law</a> is looking to appoint a Legal Support Assistant to join the team from August 2026 to the end of November 2026 on 1FTE, supporting the Law Clinic, as well as being a member of the wider Faculty Education Services team. This role will work closely with Law Clinic supervisors, students and the general public. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Law Clinic team and expand administrative skills.</p><p>As part of our programme of enhancing student employability and the diversification of learning methods, we see the Clinic as a central part of the School of Law. The post holder will be key to the success of the School and joins a dedicated, hands-on integrated team of academics and professional services colleagues.</p><p>Lancaster University launched its Law Clinic in 2019. This was an exciting development for the School of Law and allowed for the provision of a clinical learning experience for Law students, including the provision of legal advice. Lancaster University&rsquo;s national, award-winning Law Clinic has continued to grow from strength to strength. Building on our work in previous years, our Law Clinic students, under the supervision of qualified lawyers, have continued to provide free legal advice to members of the public.&nbsp;</p><p>Since 2019, Lancaster University&rsquo;s Law Clinic has assisted over 210 clients and provided the equivalent of over &pound;290,000 of free legal advice to the public. The Law Clinic also runs on a virtual basis, allowing it to provide free legal advice to clients across the UK. The Clinic offers general legal advice (although not employment law or criminal law) and specialises on consumer law, landlord &amp; tenant law, private family law and social welfare law.</p><p>The quality, impact, and distinctiveness of the Law Clinic&rsquo;s work has been recognised through several awards and nominations. The Law Clinic won Lancaster University&rsquo;s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences &ldquo;Outstanding Contribution to Engagement&rdquo; award in 2020 and was nominated for the University Engagement Award in 2021.
