Lancaster University Students’ Union provides excellent services and opportunities to support and inspire our diverse population of over 15,000 students to make the most of their experiences at university. 

One of our flagship services for our student members is SU Living- providing a high standard, accredited & responsive student housing service, with students at the very heart of all we do. 

We are now looking for an engaging, innovative, forward thinking Living Manager to complete our team, and actively contribute to our exciting, revised business model. 

The role will be to manage and oversee the  Students’ Union lettings agency, operating across all aspects of the business, ensuring a profitable, safe and customer focussed operation.

You will have significant experience working in the lettings market, with the proven ability to help deliver the smooth management on all aspects of any relevant tenancy laws and regulations. Ensuring that properties meet the necessary agreed standards and have an in-depth knowledge of best practices and rental market trends. Time management and organisation is key and the ability to prioritise and multitask is essential. 

To enable this, we expect that you will be aware of all current housing legislation affecting tenants and landlords. Knowledge of tenancy contracts, a great problem solver with the ability to maintain attention to detail and time management skill. A strong ability to effectively manage a team in the absence of the property manager and have excellent communication skills. Manage  Excellent knowledge of Tenant referencing, Tenancy contracts, right to rent checks and prepare move in or move out reports.  

Proactive positive stakeholder management is key- building and maintaining relationships with our property owners to ensure students enjoy their tenant experience. As a key member of the (regionally recognised) Lancaster University Homes Accreditation scheme you will be expected to ensure high standards are maintained, and as part of the Students Union these standards include safeguarding, equality, and a strong safety culture.

If you are an enthusiastic, committed, experienced housing lettings professional with a minimum of 2 years letting experience and looking for your next challenge within a supportive, engaging organisation, then this role is for you.

Due to the nature of the post, you will be required to work on campus.
