To ensure our Estates evolution continues to move from strength to strength, we now seek an experienced and ambitious staff to join our Estates team.
Facilities are responsible for all property services on behalf of the University, including cleaning, grounds maintenance, security, catering and general upkeep of the Estate.
We currently have a vacancy for a cleaning supervisor within the Facilities Division at Lancaster University.
You should be hard working, reliable and possess excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for supervising cleaning staff across a variety of buildings. These buildings are varied in design and use but incorporate offices, kitchens, teaching spaces, laboratories and social spaces.The successful applicant will be organised, able to work under pressure and have excellent people and I.T. skills.You should be able to work on your own initiative but also be able to work as part of a team. Recent experience of working in a similar environment is essential, you should be committed to high standards and have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems.
A good general education is required and a GCSE Grade C pass or equivalent in English and Maths is essential.
A relevant qualification in health and safety is also essential, as is a willingness to undertake a Level 3 Cleaning Supervision Apprenticeship qualification and any other relevant training to improve your skill base or adapt to changing circumstances.
The core hours are 36.5 per week, which will mainly be worked Monday to Friday with a 6.30am start. The role will be to supervise cleaning staff in academic buildings. 20% of your time in the role will be dedicated to you completing your Level 3 Cleaning Supervision Apprenticeship.
