An exciting opportunity has arisen, due to internal promotion, for a highly motivated, driven, and experienced professional to join our team of sector specialist career coaches, with specific focus on the accountancy profession.

This role will be crucial to the work of LUMS Careers, providing bespoke coaching and careers education to undergraduates, postgraduates, and alumni who aspire to develop careers within accountancy, from management accounting to financial accounting, in the public and private sectors.

You will engage with students as part of the curriculum, through information, advice, and guidance appointments and extra-curricular interventions. The role will involve networking with accountancy bodies, multinational professional service firms, regional employers, boutique practices and public finance accountancy organisations to encourage employer support of student experiential learning opportunities (i.e., work shadowing, insight days, internships, placements), graduate training contracts and events.

Educated to degree level, you will have recent, relevant, accountancy or finance professional experience at an appropriate level and/or significant experience of graduate recruitment and student/talent development. You will have an engaging and effective professional approach, with confidence in your ability to develop your network across the sector. Your previous relevant experience will have equipped you for adapting flexibly to this role and you will be someone who thrives on change, seeks new challenges, and has a passion for helping a diverse community of students and graduates.

The University offer many benefits including an excellent pension scheme. Being part of our team means you will receive 25 days annual leave plus additional closure days at Christmas and Easter, opportunities for continuing professional development, a flexible benefits package, and a package of family friendly work-life balance policies.

The role offers hybrid working with a combination of on-campus and home working.

This role is an indefinite post and will involve occasional out of hours working/travel within the UK.

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact  Rory Daly, Head of LUMS Careers r.daly@lancaster.ac.uk  or Tanya Parry, Deputy Head of LUMS Careers (Careers Education and Coaching) t.parry@lancaster.ac.uk for an informal conversation about the role.
